Emerald joinery started trading in October 2020 with an aim to provide the funeral trade and general public with handcrafted quality coffins and ashes caskets.  Emerald Joinery is based in Denham near Eye in the heart of the north Suffolk countryside.

I was an undertaker for sixteen years and decided to combine my knowledge and skills, used in my previous trade as a joiner, to design and handcraft quality coffin caskets and ancillary products that are also suitable for green burial sites.  I realised that customers are increasingly interested in an individual environmentally friendly built coffin.  We have also designed and produced our own pillows and frill in a natural unbleached calico to create a complete package.

In August 2021 Emerald Joinery joined the Funeral Furnishings Manufacturer’s Association (FFMA).  Our coffin casket was submitted for testing and passed the certification scheme.  This provides the confidence and knowledge that our coffin casket is approved for use in crematoriums of Great Britain.

We have also been in discussions with the Natural Death Centre and appear on their listings of coffin manufacturers.
